W L Bell of Shaw area kept a diary from 1905 noting extreme cold with 25 to 30 below zero and 13 inches of snow on Feb 6. The South Valley Glee Club held a fundraiser Feb 3 raising 4.55, fish were caught Feb 11 and sold for 1.64. Bell later worked as a rural mail carrier and records an Erie Sons of Veterans order from 1888 with new adjutant Clyde Limbecker and camps at Karlton Urbana.

The Kansas Motor Vehicle Reciprocity Commission formal ly ratified truck license agreements with 36 states and the District of Columbia. Most preexisting deals had to be renegotiated after Kansas repealed its ten mile tax law on January 1.
