A 1962 Ford panel truck owned and driven by Kenneth J. Farnsworth, 34, of Iola R. 3, turned over on a county road six miles northwest of here about 7 30 a m. Farnsworth was not injured. Patrol estimated $125 damage. The wrecked vehicle was towed to Chanute by a local wrecker. The accident occurred four miles west of Barker's corner.

Woodson County Plans Unified District First In State
YATES CENTER The first unification plan for a single county school district in Kansas comes from Woodson County. If approved by voters on the first Tuesday in June, the unified district would begin July 1, 1966 with one superintendent and one board. The plan allows the existing high schools at Yates Center and Toronto to continue if they meet 30 units, 400 students, or 200 square miles and a $2 million valuation. Nine districts in the county total 730 elementary students. The deadline for plans is March 1.

Five Diesels and Cars Blasted Near DuPont Center
A powerful explosion derailed five diesel locomotives and 27 cars on a northbound Florida East Coast Railway freight train near DuPont Center, Florida, 10 miles south of St. Augustine. No serious injuries were reported. The blast, believed to be sabotage, blew out the lead locomotive’s windows and injured the engineer.
