January bonds and fines totaled 632 dollars, up from December. Parking penalties rose to 347.50 with 1,345 tickets, and calls for service climbed to 287. Three felony arrests occurred in each month. misdemeanors rose from 54 to 65. Driving while intoxicated arrests were two in January, none in December, with intoxication arrests increasing to three. The department logged 17 traffic accidents including one injury, mostly daytime. Drivers included 23 men and 9 women. one driver was charged with DWI and another with reckless driving. Highest accident incidence was in ages 14-16, then 20-24 and 60-64. Traffic summonses issued numbered 45. illegal parking 19, reckless driving eight, and speeding and stop-sign violations five each. Four additional speeding citations were issued with the radar unit for a total of nine. Animal control picked up 71 dogs, 7 reclaimed, 10 adopted, 52 killed. 13 on hand at month end. Police cars logged 9,196 miles and used 1,037 gallons of gas. Prisoners and transients received 34 meals, up 12 from December.
