Karen Schwartz Miss Kansas of 1964 will appear at the annual Miss Chanute Pageant on April 4. Sponsoring Chanute JayCees approved the contract, cost about 75 dollars. Mail Fraud Charged In Western Auto Scheme

Two men, Edgar Vasquez and Wil ford Hall, were arrested in Kansas City on mail fraud charges. Vasquez, a stock man for Western Auto Supply, mailed about $20,000 worth of goods to Hall via 23 parcels and three tires. Investigators watched the pickup, and a 3 ton truck hauled away recovered merchandise. Western Auto covered postage. suspects released on $1,000 bonds each. They lived as roommates and kept goods mailed to Hall.

Two Liquor Stores Held Up Friday in Kansas

El Dorado and Augusta liquor stores were robbed Friday night by the same man. Mrs. Ethel Mae Callway, wife of the El Dorado store owner, was robbed of 173 dollars and owner Paul Kinneman in Augusta was relieved of 239 dollars.

Plea of Guilty To Rape Charge

Kansas City AP Guy Frederick Brown aged 38 pleaded guilty to the rape of one woman and the attempted rape of three others He was sentenced to 25 years on each charge with terms to run concurrently The offenses included assaults on the University of Missouri at Kansas City campus and at high schools The victims included a 19-year-old stenographer and a 16-year-old student Brown was previously convicted in Jackson Michigan in 1946 and paroled in 1956 with revocation in 1958 and release again in May 1960 He is described as a Negro and has a wife and children.
