Gun Accident Fatal To Moundridge Youth
Norman Kuhns aged 14 of Moundridge was killed by an accidental shotgun blast. Sheriff Forrest Kennedy said the shot from a gun carried by fellow 14 year old Jerry Strausz struck Kuhns during a jack rabbit hunt near a farm east of Moundridge while the youths were fooling around. Strausz claimed he thought the gun was on safety.

19 year old John Robert Johnston Jr of Wellington dies after veering into a ditch to avoid a head on crash on a county road east of Wellington. Johnston worked about a year in Boeing Wichita engineering department. Kent Milerandt of Fairview Minnesota drove a five person car.
