New Rent Guidelines Announced by Price Commission

Early paroles ease holiday jail crowd
Three county jail prisoners were granted early paroles Tuesday to avoid holiday time behind bars. Only Archie B. Stewart, 43, Detroit, remains in Erie after a forgery conviction in November. No one is held in the city jail this morning.

Warden Tom White Dies at 90 A Border Ranger and FBI Agent
Tom White longtime lawman and former warden of Leavenworth federal penitentiary died at 90. A Texas Ranger on the Mexican border from 1903 to 1909 he was kidnapped and shot by escaping convicts but recovered. He later served as an FBI agent and held key prison posts in Atlanta and Leavenworth.

Holiday Arrival Brings 29 Vietnam Veterans Home
Twenty nine service men from Vietnam landed at Kansas City Municipal Air Terminal for an 11 day home visit.
