Mrs Mayme Clevenger 67 of Bucklin died in a hospital here yesterday from injuries sustained in a road accident on a country road between Ford and Wilruse Gardens. The collision occurred earlier on the country road.

Cost-Plus Plan Criticized as Taxpayer Burden by Santa Fe Leader
Jack E. Lester, assistant general manager of the Santa Fe, told a Rotary club gathering in Topeka that cost-plus contracting creates unnecessary labor and high costs. He noted two Kansas plants, one privately funded at about 4 million and a government plant at 40 million, and cited Santa Fe property taxes at 52 million and roadway maintenance at 18 million as evidence of railroads paying far more than trucks. Bids on grading and a new Neosho River bridge for the USS59 relocation near Erie were approved by the State Highway Commission. Nelson Brothers of LaHarpe and John S. Police identified a light colored two tone 1949 automobile as the vehicle that struck a parked car owned by Andrew Guitierrez at 1317 S Forest. The hit and run driver left the scene without providing identification. Guitierrez's car was parked in front of his home and the other car would have damage to its left front.
