Antipolio Shots Given To 620 Local Children At Hospital
Neosho county children aged five to nine received polio vaccine Saturday at the hospital here. Mrs. Margaret Wood says the vaccine, supplied by the State Board of Health, was free and administered by local doctors. A second shot is planned for January 7 with extended hours. Some children, including many from Chanute, did not show up and will be eligible again then through their family physicians.

Mrs Martha Durland aged 88 suffered serious burns when her nightgown caught fire before a gas heater at her 517 West Olive home around 7 30 this morning. Neighbour Mrs Dave Brown helped smother flames and the woman was taken to Neosho Memorial Hospital for treatment.
