Ralph del Monte 48 placed a 10 by 7 foot poster on an office block showing two hearts with an arrow and the caption Ralph loves Etty to celebrate 27 years of marriage. Etty praised the gesture and said Ralph is marvelous though the poster cost nothing as the firm refused payment.
In Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania the court delayed a ruling on the request to exhume Mary Jo Kopechne for an autopsy. District Attorney Edmund Dinis of New Bedford hoped for a final decision before the September 3 inquest into the drowning linked to Senator Edward M. Kennedy. The judge postponed the petition for arguments on dismissal set for next Monday.
The disciplinary appeals board at Lawrence rejected reinstatement requests from 25 of 50 KU students suspended for disrupting and canceling the chancellor's KOTC review in Memorial Stadium on May 9. Appeals were filed by 299 students. three suspensions were reduced to disciplinary probation and one case set aside as unfair.
