Freak DC6 spins on ground after propeller loss at L A airport
A four engine American Airlines DC6 taxied and then spun on the runway for half an hour after a right inboard propeller flew off. The crew escaped down a rope with minor rope burns as the left inboard engine caught fire and the plane finally stopped. Kansas City Intercity Freeway Opens to Traffic
Kansas City's 12 million dollar intercity freeway opened to traffic today after five years of construction. A formal opening is planned for Oct. 7 with some interchanges not yet fully in use.
