The device shells and bags corn in the field, reducing handling and cob disposal and yielding about five cents more per bushel at local elevators. Runaway Car Damages Home Then Two Auto Collisions
A runaway car struck the W. B. Douglass residence at 100 N. Santa Fe causing a southwest corner hole and right rear damage Friday at 5:35 p.m. The car, owned by Leonard J. Howard of Shawnee, rolled down Sycamore and jumped a curb. Separately, a collision on K39 about 30 miles east of Chanute near 6:45 p.m. injured Alford and Carson, with no injuries reported. Minor damage occurred to a parked car when backed into by Ray Malcolm.
