Institute Founder Dies at Wichita Institute
Dr. Martin F. Palmer 64 founder and director of the Wichita Institute of Logopedics and chair of the Wichita State University logopedics department died Friday at Wesley Hospital. He founded the institute in 1934, now on 52 acres as the world’s first logopedics department. Palmer advised the WHO for Japan in 1960 and India in 1963. The institute has treated over 30,000 speech defect patients from 50 states and 24 foreign countries. Mrs. Palmer and daughter Susan survive.

Woman Involved in Two City Accidents Injures Driver
Two traffic accidents were investigated by city police yesterday afternoon. The first at Cherry K39 and Grant involved a 1964 Chevrolet driven by Ona A. Puckett and a 1959 Chevrolet driven by Robert L. Crismas. both cars eastbound. Puckett, who collapsed at the scene, was not injured but taken to Neosho Memorial Hospital under observation for a serious heart condition. The second crash occurred at 15th and South Santa Fe when a 1959 Chevrolet driven by Dave McGough turned left into Tom Grace in a 1965 Ford Mustang. damages were $250 to the Chevrolet and $300 to the Mustang.
