About 10 000 snake hunters turned in three tons. No one was bitten. Daisy the cow near Humboldt has eight calves in four years with three sets of twins since 1956.

Harold Keith Thornhill 20 of Iola was cited for leaving the scene after his 1953 Ford collided with Janey Beachner 20 of St Paul R2 at 21st and Santa Fe about 11 55 last night. Beachner’s 1957 Ford sustained left rear fender and bumper damage while Thornhill’s right front fender and bumper were damaged. Thornhill was released for appearance next week. Earlier, Dorcas Ann Osborn 16 of 321 S Tennessee and Ronald Wiltse 15 of 1009 S Plummer collided in the noon hour on West Main near a pedestrian crosswalk. Osborn’s 1956 Plymouth rear and Wiltse’s 1957 Chevrolet front damage estimated at 50 and 100 respectively.

Three Airmen Die In Topeka Crash
In Topeka Kansas three airmen died when a reconnaissance plane from Forbes Air Force Base crashed 12 miles southeast of the city. Lt Carl Heaberlin 24 co-pilot was killed three hours after the birth of his son. Survivors include his wife Margaret and two children Caren Lee 2 and a newborn son who did not live to meet him.
