Family swept to death in San Saba flash flood near Brady
A mother, father, and 14 year old Sharon Kay Kennedy are missing and believed drowned after a flash flood on the San Saba River near Brady Texas. Dowling Kennedy, twin to Sharon Kay, was rescued after clinging to a willow tree while auto occupants in two other cars were unaccounted for. A National Guard search began at daylight as the river rose sharply during the night and then subsided.

Four Year Old Boy Bitten by Neighborhood Dog
Ronald Dean Atkinson aged four son of Mr and Mrs R E Atkinson of 419 S Ashby was bitten on the front porch while playing Sunday. He received two scalp wounds at Neosho Memorial Hospital and was sent home. The dog belonged to Fred Cox of Chanute who is now in a nursing home. Two dynamite bombs rocked a four story southwest side hotel early yesterday. Albert Ziemba, the hotel handyman, died in the blast and three other persons were injured. Firemen estimated the damage at ten thousand dollars to the New Market Hotel.

In Birmingham Alabama Lloyd Hill 37 from Fort Payne was bitten while handling a rattlesnake at a Pentecostal Holiness Church service. He refused medical aid and along with two other men including the preacher faced charges for handling a dangerous snake. Witnesses said the snake bit Hill on his right hand after about five minutes of handling. The group cited a religious verse from St. Mark to justify their act.
