Wayne Taylor, 31, manager of the Chanute Chamber of Commerce, will resign effective May 31 to become manager of the Kansas City chamber of commerce research and services division. Ellsworth C. Green Jr. is executive manager. Taylor, who took the Chanute post Feb 1 1953, helped revamp the chamber and boost membership. He starts new duties June 1. The chamber discussed finding a successor at a directors meeting.

Great Bend Farmer Robbed of 375 Dollars and Ring
Duke Witt of Hudson, Kansas, was robbed of 375 dollars in cash and a four carat diamond ring after a man with a revolver hid in his car near the Eagles lodge in Great Bend. He was ordered to drive about 60 miles southwest to the robbery site. A second car waited on the road. Witt walked to a nearby farmhouse to alert the sheriff after the assailant fled in his own car. The victim’s car was later found about a mile and a half from the scene.

Honors for Retiring Officials At C of C New Year Start
The Tioga Chamber of Commerce held a noon luncheon at the Tioga Hotel honoring retiring officials.
