Merriman Found Guilty On Alcohol Sales To Minors
Erie man Glen Merriman was found guilty on four counts of selling alcohol to minors by a jury on March 20. Judge B M Dunham fined him 175 dollars, ordered a 500 dollar bond to prevent future violations, and gave 30 days to pay. His lawyer filed notice of appeal to the state supreme court and posted a 500 dollar appeal bond.

Former Fire Chief Walter Buel Dies at Parsons
Walter Alfred Buel aged 86 former Parsons fire chief for 45 years until 1941 died yesterday at Parsons. He led the Missouri Valley Fire Chiefs Assn and held life memberships in the Kansas State Firemen and Fire Chiefs Assn and the International Assn of Fire Chiefs. Survivors include his widow and a sister. Funeral services will be held tomorrow.
