A five year old girl visiting First Baptist Church in Wichita wandered from a sixth floor window and died after surgery at St Francis Hospital. No witness reported the accident. She is identified as Michelle Lemon, daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry B Lemon Jr. of Wichita.
Boonville Missouri AP report two vehicles traveling from opposite directions crashed head on Friday night. Bertha Bowen 57 of Blackwater Missouri appeared to lose control on loose gravel and drift into the path of Ronald Wayne Bowen 22 en route from Blackwater to Boonville to visit his wife and baby. The wreck occurred on Missouri 41 about ten miles west of Boonville near Lamine Missouri.
A private single engine Cessna Continental crashed at the Trace Hollow Resort air strip on Table Rock Lake near Lampe Missouri killing Ralph Westfall of Topeka Kansas Charles G Seetin of Berryton Kansas and his brother Garland R Seetin of Kansas City Kansas all on a recreational trip. The plane made three passes over the field then overshot the runway and struck trees on a wooded hillside.
The Senate passed a 1.3 billion dollar school aid bill aimed at improving education in poverty areas with indirect benefits for private and parochial schools. The measure, approved 73 to 18 in the Senate and 263 to 153 in the House, awaits President Johnson signature.

A 348 to 62 passage for a 2 125 billion supplemental bill including 344 328 million for Appalachian regional development with Dole Ellsworth Mize Shriver for and Skubitz against.
