Commission Sets Minimum Light Rate After Narrow Vote

The commission approves a compromise fixing a $1.25 fixed minimum light rate in a 3 to 2 decision. The order also requires a new schedule of rates exclusive of cities to be filed, replacing the prior $2.50 minimum. The ruling reflects a disputed balance between customers and the utility, with a minority dissent opposing the change.
