The father pled guilty and was ordered to pay $6 weekly. he had briefly paid, then cited hard luck while buying a truck, leaving $176 in arrears. Attorney J Allen Ballman noted a verbal divorce agreement. the wife obtained a Michigan decree but left the city with her mother, Mrs. Davis of 104 Mason Avenue, Binghamton. The court heard Warren might pay $10 weekly until arrears are cleared if the child benefits. Henderson reported the child is well fed and housed. Similar action followed in Smith’s case. James Judson of Highland Mills paid $5 weekly for a year, then stopped, claiming no road work. Probation officials said leniency waned after $100-plus arrears were discovered. Judson later borrowed from his father to cover and now owes $105 plus a separate debt to another lender.
