Mysterious Well and Tragic Tales Shape Truesdale History
A long account recounts the Albert City gun battle and a mysterious whistling well near Truesdale, with deaths of marshal Charles Lodine and local man John Sundblad. It covers trials, hangings overturned to life sentences, and the well’s gas-triggered tragedy. Also notes June 1970 elevator collapse, and local history of Alta, Storm Lake, and rail development.
