Half century threshing ends in Good Thunder Minnesota
Duane Bohlke, longtime threshing operator in Good Thunder, Minnesota, marks the 50th and final threshing year. The aging Rumley machine starts after a struggle, with two wagons and two spike pitchers feeding the thresher as Bohlke extols fuel efficiency and the annual rhythm of harvesting cattle nourishments in straw mulch.

Threshing era ends after 50 years at Bohlke farm
The Bohlke family recalls a half century of custom threshing from 1928 to 1978 in Minnesota’s Ra pidan area. They recount rising yields, changing machinery, and hard work amid dry summers and long days, noting 300000 bushels threshed total. The era ended with small combines replacing old rigs.
