Linn County prepares for Cedar River flood crest near 8 feet
Linn County officials schedule a noon meeting at the Jean Oxley Public Service Center to designate Steve Estenson as temporary incident commander for the flood. Communications director Joi Alexander says steps are being taken to protect assets. The Iowa River basin avoided most rainfall as Coralville Lake outflow was boosted to 6000 CFS then planned to fall to 1000 CFS on Tuesday to reduce impact downstream. The reservoir is forecast to crest about 697 feet, roughly 15 feet below the spillway, with no major concerns reported.
