UI survey on sexual violence yields low response
The University of Iowa released results from an anonymous campus survey showing 1 in 5 female undergraduates who responded reported rape since enrolling. With fewer than 3,000 participants of a potential 28,787, officials caution extrapolating to the whole student body. 74 percent of respondents were women, while about 5 percent were men. Carolyn Copps Hartley highlighted the low response rate and cautioned interpretation.
