Ducks Unlimited to fund U.S. wetland projects in five states
Ducks Unlimited, a fast-growing U.S. conservation group, will divert funds to wetlands in the United States alongside its Canada work. Regional director Gary Swanson says about 80 percent of donations have funded Canadian projects, with plans to split roughly 80/20 between Canada and the U.S. over the next years, starting in North and South Dakota, Alaska, Montana and western Minnesota. The Iowa chapter network has grown to about 84 active chapters with near 20 000 members, and Swanson notes annual banquets remain the primary fundraising method. Eastern Iowa will host a banquet at Stouffer’s ballroom on Tuesday, with tickets $30 and registration details available through Monday.
