Sinclair’s Cedar Rapids Plant Births a City Change
In 1871 Thomas M Sinclair founded a Cedar Rapids packing plant after visiting the city. The operation grew to become a major industry, expanding over 16 acres and employing an expanding workforce. The plant faced mid century changes, mergers, and eventual renaming to Wilson and Co. It underwent renovations and planned expansion aimed at future growth for the company and community.
