In Padua Italy police recovered a priceless Titian after a car pursuit and arrested six suspects including a convicted bank robber. Meanwhile a church inventory was found missing three Renaissance paintings and a 16th century gem encrusted chalice from St Thomas parish. Elliott to Go to State Release Center at Newton
A parole office representative explained Friday why Robert Elliott has been held in Linn county jail since July 30. The 24 year old Cedar Rapids man says he has not received legal papers to revoke his parole. Officials say the parole office need not file such papers but Elliott may fare better at the Newton release center for re evaluation and counseling. Elliott will be moved Monday when space becomes available. A habeas corpus petition seeks his release, with a hearing set for next Tuesday at 9 a.m.
