Iowa Board alters vocational aid formula for funds

The Iowa State Board of Public Instruction revised the vocational education funding formula to reflect manpower and population needs and economic hardship. Staff of 134 Is Needed at New Security Unit

A new Bi bed Iowa security medical facility at Oakdale near Iowa City needs 14 staff to run it, with 40 patients currently and plans for up to 180 staff. Nolan Ellandson, Director of Adult Corrections, says the patient ratio is justified by the work and that most employees are mental health officers handling treatment and security. Readily, the facility relocated 80 patients from Anamosa. Grover Davis, serving a 10 year forgery sentence, is missing from authorities.

Regents Won't Fight Oakdale Annexation

Cedar Falls The state board of regents will not oppose Coralville's plan to annex the University of Iowa Oakdale campus. Administrators advised the regents that Coralville aims to advance annexation before 1970 to secure census gains affecting state and federal aid.
