Ames Pleasant Valley crown Cedar Rapids Invitational again
Ames and Pleasant Valley repeat as team champions at the 14th Cedar Rapids Invitational at Noelridge Park. Dave Voss of Ames won the varsity boys two mile in 10 23.4, with Greg Worley Jim Thomas and Jeff Burris aiding the Little Cyclones to 41 points. Bettendorf runner Julie Hudetz took girls honors in 11 52. Pleasant Valley placed four in the top 15 to win the girls team title with 35 points, while North Scott was runner up with 81. Cedar Rapids Jefferson led Metro finishers in boys action, and several other area schools posted individual marks across the field of 577 finishers from 22 teams.
