Iowa cites speed alcohol and low seat belt use in rising highway fatalities

Lost license found in fish after eleven years

Ricky Shipman, then 16, lost his plastic coated driver's license in 1972 while at the beach. It surfaced last October inside an eight pound Spanish mackerel caught off Sunset Beach, North Carolina. The fisherman reported the find, and Shipman received the license mailed to him last month.

Heart trouble linked to drowning near Durango

Ver non Zickuhr, 76, of Dubuque, was found in the Little Maquoketa River west of Durango after collapsing from heart disease. Medical examiner Dr. T.T. Edmonds said he apparently fell into the river while working as a volunteer caretaker along the Heritage Trail. No foul play is suspected.
