New trial asked in arm wrestle suit
The family of Brett Christiansen seeks a new trial in a Linn District Court over injuries from an arm wrestling incident at Vernon Middle School in Marion in 1980. A jury awarded nothing after a 5-3 vote before two jurors allegedly demonstrated arm wrestling, then changed to a unanimous verdict for the defendants. Defendants are Marion Independent School District David Cox and his parents Shirley and Charles L. Cox Jr.
