A worldwide wheat war drove prices to multidecade lows on the Chicago Board of Trade before a late session recovery. December futures rose to 45 15, May 51 50, and July 52 75 as Liverpool demand and stock gains buoyed sentiment, while interior elevators suspended buying amid prices well below production costs. Farmers faced sharp losses as the U S and Canada race to export and Argentina and Australia ready supplies.
