Mixed reception for Cedar Rapids massage ordinance
The proposed Cedar Rapids regulation of massage parlors and outcall masseurs draws support from city officials churches and citizens groups while operators oppose most provisions. Safety Commissioner Floyd Bergen says the ordinance will stand up in court though enforcement may be tricky. Local clergy business owners and operators express varied views with some fearing shutdown of legitimate work and others defending licensing and conduct rules.
