Marion's Council Tuesday afternoon discussed phase planning for the proposed recreation complex. Parks Executive Director Joe Butterfield outlined the first phase costing about 90 for land purchase and 180000 for related costs.
Police Chief Robert K. Zier urged Marion Council to reorganize the force placing juvenile and identification officers under the detective bureau. A civil service exam on Oct. 25 will fill the vacant police captain post. An $400000 nonbond issue and $18000 in fees are proposed for a multi phase complex, with final completion depending on voters.
