A six year old Cedar Rapids boy, Michael Bounds, died after darting into Bever Avenue SE near 15th Street and being struck by a car driven by Stephen A. Beardsley. Bounds died at Mercy Hospital from chest injuries. Beardsley, 26, will not face charges. the boy’s uniformed passengers remained passengers during the incident.
