Remodeling Work At Williamsburg Bank Completed
The Farmers Trust and Savings bank here finished an extensive remodeling spanning nearly six months. The basement and second floor were updated, with a new heating and air conditioning plant installed. First floor interiors, including woodwork and fixtures, were replaced, the ceiling lowered, new acoustical material and lighting added, and a tile floor laid. Aluminum and glass fronts modernize the exterior, and a new front private office and directors’ room were remodeled. An open house was tentatively discussed but delayed by arriving furnishings. The bank, founded in 1934, has assets of 3.6 million dollars, 50 thousand capital, 200 thousand surplus, and 90 thousand undivided profits.

Driver Follows Truck On Shoulder Crashes Near Rowan
Clarion AP Marvin Fink of Latimer 24 was seriously injured Friday night when he followed an eastbound semi onto the shoulder near an entrance to a service station and crashed into the truck’s left rear dual wheels. The impact sheared the top of his hardtop convertible and knocked the truck’s rear axle forward. Fink suffered head injuries and shock and was listed in fair condition in a local hospital.
