Gamma ray bursts explained as neutron star mergers
An international team using three space satellites and four ground telescopes confirms gamma ray bursts arise when two neutron stars collide or when a neutron star is swallowed by a black hole. The findings, published in Nature, describe May 9 and July 9 events with images of a neutron star torn apart in a black hole.

Safety board cites stability flaw on tour boat test
