Five Year Prison Term Reimposed for Dvorsky Involuntary Manslaughter
Lawrence J. Dvorsky of Marion was resentenced in Linn District Court to five years in prison for an April 1980 involuntary manslaughter case that killed Brian Edgerly near Marion. The Iowa Supreme Court had overturned a prior sentence, citing lack of discretion, with the judge ordering a fresh term after considering the offense, trial records, and Dvorsky's statements of remorse and efforts at rehabilitation.
