Pakistan cyclone toll grows in East Pakistan disaster
A deadly cyclone and tidal wave along the Bay of Bengal hit East Pakistan killing at least 11,283 confirmed and potentially up to 100,000 officials said. Noakhali district suffered about 10,000 deaths with 2,000 missing as 150 mph winds and 20-foot waves devastated the coast. A Mahajagmitra freighter was feared lost near Calcutta with 49 crew.
