Victor Bock Cedar Rapids resident for nine years, former manager of the J C Penney Co store until March retirement, and Hal Haines currently vice president and secretary of Perpetual Savings and Loan, joined in 1960. Duane Arnold of Iowa Electric Light and Power Co. was elected chairman, after 22 years on the Perpetual board.
Spaceflight forecasters predicted satisfactory conditions for Apollo 12 launch on Friday. They expect partly cloudy skies with cool temperatures and moderate northerly winds. Good conditions were also forecast for emergency Atlantic Ocean landing areas.

Sows and heavier weights also fell or rose by specific weight grades while lambs, ewes, poultry, and grains posted various price levels and delivered quotes.
Wheat, corn and soybeans rose Tuesday but gains narrowed by late profit taking. Reports say farmers may hold grain awaiting higher prices. Exports of soybeans, wheat and corn have risen recently, with more business expected briefly.
Chicago follows AP wire with grain quotes listing Wheat No 2 yellow at 1 40 and 1 404n for soft red, Corn No 2 yellow 1 16n, Oats No 2 heavy white 61 sn, Beans No 1 yellow 2 43n, Soybean oil 11 60n.
Castle 3,500 cattle. Slaughter steers and heifers steady to 25 cents higher. Choice 950 to 1,300 pound calves 27.00 to 27.50, choice to prime 28, choice 850 to 1,100 pound heifers 25.75 to 26.50.

Roe of Overland Park Kansas purchased Builders Components Inc a Cedar Rapids maker of components for single and multiple family dwellings The firm a Life Investors subsidiary since last December will keep current management including general manager Joe Michal and no changes to product lines or operations with 20 employees Roe plans expansion in the future and remains involved in Engineered Components of Clarinda and Page and Hill Homes.

The 50 by 100 foot barn and adjoining milk house and cattle shed were lost. Mary Beth Becker, 16, awoke to flames at 5 am as Vernon Becker freed some cows. Worthington Hopkinton and Delhi fire departments fought the blaze. cause unknown though the buildings had been rewired recently.
Washington AP reports the army warns service members in uniform at the November 15 Washington march against the Vietnam war will be arrested and turned over to commanders for possible court martial. The Pentagon and justice department plan to act under Sept. 12 directives restricting off post demonstrations by armed forces personnel.
