Public Schools To Give Second Vesper Service

Cedar Rapids public schools present a vesper concert and art exhibit next Sunday at Memorial Coliseum at 3 p.m. The Barber Shop chorus from Cedar Rapids will headline, with art from Wilson, Roosevelt, Fillmore Tyler Harrison and Van Buren schools on display. Open house at Grant Wood school runs 1:30 to 9 p.m. and is part of National Education Week activities.

Cedar Rapids Library Announces National Children's Book Week

Cedar Rapids Public Library observes National Children's Book Week November 11 to 18 with a display in the children's room featuring a horse shoe from a juvenile book character, horse pictures, sagebrush, 100 letters from top juvenile writers, and a foreign book collection. A 4 to 6 pm Tuesday art gallery program and Family Night Friday from 6 to 9 pm invite teachers, parents, and the public to learn about books and meet staff.
