Four of five airlines sign leases for Cedar Rapids Airport

Cedar Rapids City Council to sign airport terminal leases
In Cedar Rapids a Wednesday hearing in the city council chambers will lead to lease signings for the present terminal and a new 10 year post occupancy period. Present airline leases end June 30 and a December suit blocked a prior $11.5 million bond sale. If the suit is withdrawn after leases are signed, a $9.5 million general obligation bond sale proceeds to finance the terminal, reduced by $2 million due to smaller building size and lower rates.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa submitted the apparent low bid to provide health insurance for Cedar Rapids city employees.
