Linn County to name building for Percy and Lileah Harris

Linn County Supervisors plan to name the future Public Health and Child and Youth Development Services building the Dr. Percy and Lileah Harris Building. The plan, discussed at a county meeting, honors Cedar Rapids civil rights leader Dr. Percy Harris and pianist and activist Lileah Harris, who died earlier and three years earlier respectively. The project includes 12 conference rooms named after the Harrises’ children and aims for LEED Gold with a community-focused design opening in 2018 at 1019 Seventh St. SE, Cedar Rapids.
