Seat belt enforcement effort to start Monday
Cedar Rapids police will join a two week seat belt enforcement project starting Monday and running through Memorial Day weekend to June 4. Public safety spokesman Greg Buelow cited Iowa’s 94 percent belt use and noted the remaining six percent account for about half of traffic fatalities. The program is funded by the Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau.
