Cedar Rapids seeks bond plan to renovate schools and remove Grant
Cedar Rapids proposes a 117 million bond to renovate four schools including Roosevelt, McKinley, Wilson and Kennedy, while Grant Elementary would be removed from the district inventory. The plan would save 140.8 million in operating costs over 20 years and raise about 7.47 a month on a 200k home starting 2027. Mayor Tiffany O'Donnell backs the measure, saying facilities are ready to be modernized and improved.
