Iowa approves parks accessibility study and funding push
A bipartisan effort in Iowa moves to study and improve accessibility in state parks. The 2023 DNR report warned most facilities are not handicap accessible and called for over 100 million in repairs. The new measures allocate 1.3 million for accessibility and 6 million for park upkeep, plus a track chair demonstration at Big Creek. Rep Zahner praised the rare passage of House File 2364, noting broad support for expanding outdoor access.
