Jerome Milton Inc. sues the University of Iowa in Johnson County District Court for breach of contract and negligence over toothpaste tests. Milton paid $70,000 in June 1985 for researchers who were to report in August December 1985 and June 1986 but did not deliver. Investigators were to conduct clinical tests on Shane toothpaste for Milton.
IOWA CITY An endowed professorship in the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts will be named after Vice President Duane C. Spriestersbach. Spriestersbach, 70, serves as vice president for educational development and research and dean of the Graduate College. He agreed to stay one more year to maintain continuity between President James O. Freedman and his successor.
Robert Harpster 43, director of the League of Iowa Municipalities since 1977, will resign in July to join Investment Managers Group. The League lobbies for municipalities and provides budgeting, accounting and insurance guidance.
