Enlistment of two Cedar Rapids men for the navy was reported Wednesday by the recruiting office in Cedar Rapids. The two will take recruit training at the naval training center in San Diego. Charles H. Wiggins, 19, of 938 Belmont Parkway NW and Vincent F. Russo, 19, of 637 Twentieth Avenue SW are the enlistees.

Mrs. Joseph Feyerabend 85 of Cedar Rapids died in a nursing home after a long illness. Born near Swisher January 6 1868 she moved to Cedar Rapids 18 months ago. Survived by husband, a daughter Mrs. Frank F Shebetka, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four sisters Mrs Helen Dvorak Mrs Jennie Werba Elizabeth Novak and Mrs Frank Lenoch. Services at Brush chapel Friday at 2 p.m. conducted by Theodore B Hlubacek. Burial Linwood cemetery. Friends may call Thursday.
George M. Georgilas, a Cedar Rapids resident since 1914 and brother of Mrs. John E. Lapes, died suddenly Tuesday. Born April 23, 1903 in Saint Peter Greece, he lived with his sister at 502 Twenty third Street SE. He leaves his mother in Greece and a niece Kathy Samouris. Funeral at St John the Baptist Hellenic Orthodox Church Thursday at 2 30 p.m. with Rev Father Savrinicolou. burial in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation at Beatty Bearle chapel until 9 p.m. Wednesday and at the church after 10 a.m. Thursday.
Austrian envoy Max Loewenthal will deliver the commencement address at Coe College on June 1 and receive an honorary doctor of laws degree. Six individuals, including Sen. Hickenlooper, will receive honorary degrees. Dr. Arthur Compton, Dr. Liston Pope, Dr. Ernest Volwiler, Rev. E. Fay Campbell also honored. Campbell to give baccalaureate address May 31.

Frank Kinsey Michener of Cedar Rapids died at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday after months of illness. Born February 24, 1869 in West Branch, he leaves two Cedar Rapids daughters Mrs. Robert W. McClaughry and Mrs. C. H. Dauchy, a son C. M. Michener of Cheyenne, Wyoming, four grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He belonged to Westminster Presbyterian Church. The service is at Turner chapel Friday at 1:30 p.m. conducted by Dr. Andrew E. Kurth with burial in West Branch. Friends may call at the chapel.
LoVina Faith died at 8:25 a.m. Wednesday at her niece’s home in Cedar Rapids after a long illness. Born Oct 28, 1870 in Jackson county, she is survived by three sisters in Waterloo, Chicago, and Atascadero. A member of the Episcopal church, burial is planned in Walker cemetery. service details to be announced.
Reuben Morton Ford 74 of 817 Ninth Street SE died at Mercy hospital Thursday night following a lingering illness. Born in Mt Vernon Virginia he moved to Cedar Rapids from Philadelphia 34 years ago. He worked in the city's sanitation department and belonged to the Order of Eastern Star Mt Olive lodge AFL local and Mt Zion Baptist church. Survivors include brother Jesse of Philadelphia and stepdaughter Beatrice Pointer of Lansing. Body at Rice Funeral Home with services to be announced.
Services for Charles Sutton Jackson of Cedar Rapids area will be held in Beatty-Bearle chapel at 1 30 a m Thursday. The Waterloo native lived here many years before moving four months ago. The Rev H L Sunderman will officiate.
Miss Ellen M. Sears of Cedar Rapids died suddenly after moving to San Francisco more than a decade ago. Funeral services held in San Francisco on Monday. Survived by a sister Mrs. Charles Nobles of San Francisco and several nieces and nephews in Cedar Rapids and St. Paul.
Joseph R. Barnd of Manchester led commerce scholarship and received a scholarship key from Delta Sigma Pi during the Collegiate Chamber of Commerce dinner at the University of Iowa. Barnd and John M. Hays of Iowa City were among 15 students elected to Beta Gamma Sigma. Dean Richard L. Kozelka of Minnesota spoke.
SCOOBA Miss Frances Edwards a third grade teacher with no dentistry license pulled her 1500th tooth. She uses a story to distract children and claims “painless” extraction of baby teeth. Each child signs a form after the procedure.

Norman X. Swenson of Ottumwa was elected president and secretary of the Iowa Bakers Association at the state convention in the Roosevelt hotel. District Judge H D Evans granted custody to Marian Dean last Jan 27. Mrs Dean first was granted custody when parents divorced in 1945. Dean was granted temporary custody when Mrs Dean entered the hospital at the university. After Mrs Dean was released the court granted her request for the return of her daughter.

A damage suit brought by R. J. Benda against Manuel Clements was dismissed Tuesday by Benda.
Edward Clark a 24 year old Korean War veteran from Soap Lake Washington said he lost his billfold with 500 dollars after riding with a motorist from Montana. Clark was bound for Rochester Indiana to marry his sweetheart. A motorist named Peter Massey of Waltham Massachusetts was identified as the rider in Waterloo. Clark reported the loss after refueling at Tama.
Representatives from Local 125 of the Plumbers union met Cedar Rapids Master Plumbers to end a 13 day work stoppage. Ned Thomas said daily meetings continue as talks focus on a 10 cent an hour raise while master plumbers offer changes in working rules.
