Judge dismisses suit on Iowa pandemic jobless benefits
A U S district court judge on Friday dismissed a class action by Karla Smith and Holly Bladel arguing Reynolds and Townsend illegally ended pandemic related unemployment assistance in 2021. The court ruled CARES Act programs were optional for states and plaintiffs had no protected property right to the benefits.
