The Hy-Vee at 1556 First Ave NE will close June 23, joining a Waterloo store in shutting down after years of not meeting financial targets. The Cedar Rapids location, opened in 2002 with a $915,000 incentive, served Wellington Heights and Mound View in a low income area. The action is in U S District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.
