Judge Stovall recessed trial. an alternate will replace Melissa. Two alternates remain after first juror was dismissed last week.

Polk County district associate judge Matthew M. McEntry died Tuesday from apparent carbon monoxide asphyxiation. He was found by his wife in an idling car at the family home. Funeral services planned for Friday at St. Teresa’s Church.

Shoplifter Charged With Abandoning Daughters In Theft Case
Warrants issued for Elizabeth Ann McWilliams and Margaret Marie Davis, both charged with felony theft by shoplifting over 1500 dollars after they allegedly left McWilliams' two daughters, ages 10 and 14, at a Bellevue store while taking merchandise. The sisters fled with a tub of goods as store officers detained the children for stolen clothing and pockets full of items. The girls were cited for shoplifting and giving false information to police.
